Learn Mahj. Laugh Often. Mahj On!
Mia’s Story
Some of my earliest memories are of watching my mother and grandmother play Mahjong every Wednesday night: beautiful tiles clicking across the table, a glass of wine in hand, and hors d’oeuvres that made the evening feel like a weekly celebration. It was more than just a game to them — it was a ritual of connection, laughter, and legacy, and I soaked it all in.
Years later, when my son was in preschool, a friend suggested we start playing together. One lesson turned into many afternoons, and before long I had the Mahj bug!
With the encouragement and suggestion of a close friend, Crak • Bam • Mahj was born! It grew out of my desire to share that passion and build a modern, welcoming community around this incredible game. I love everything about Mahj—the history, the culture, the strategy, and especially the way it brings people together! I even taught my husband and son to play…we are a family that play together!
Over the years, I have traveled and played in numerous national tournaments, including the Mahjong World Championship in Las Vegas, as well as events across Scottsdale, San Diego, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Palm Desert, and even several Mahj cruises. Competitive play has deepened my appreciation for the strategy and excitement of the game, but my heart always comes back to connection and fun.
When you join me, also known as Crak • Bam • Mia!, you’re learning from someone who believes Mahj is about more than tiles, tactics, and a good glass of wine. It’s about community, confidence, friendship, and, yes, eventually winning!
